Become wiser with Albert Einstein

It’s really challenging to decide where to start, as this man is truly one of a kind. His engagement to many global problems combined with his unique personality made him undoubtedly the most famous scientist of all ages and probably the only scientist who is admired for his quotes all around the world. His attitude towards life and his general philosophy is still unbelievably inspiring. His timeless thoughts are worth mentioning and fully deserve to be remembered forever. Let’s take a look at them!

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”

Every success comes with the right values. Our aim should be to set ourselves the correct values we believe in and focus on them. By focusing on the right values you can deliver yourself to your successful ending much faster than if you would only concentrate on the result from the beginning. Let the way full the right values be your goal. You’ll feel more satisfied than ever.

“All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree.”

After all we are all human species. We’ve all got the same roots. Do not forget this!Reminding ourselves about this is very important. Make sure everyone knows this! Especially when interacting with strangers. They are human as well. They do feel emotions too. They are fearful and happy exactly like you. The culture might be the only thing differentiating them from you. In a nutshell, AE encourages us to cooperate. Let’s be tolerant and help each other. Don’t forget it, you’ll become a better person just by repeating it to yourself from time to time. We can make the world a better place simply by not neglecting the art of communication.

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”

When you’re down and don’t see any reasonable way-out, that is the point where the things start to change. You just have to push yourself and persist on your way. Don’t doubt yourself and never give up. Times of the greatest successes follow the times of great hardships! Just persist.

“Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.”

Yep, that’s it! Why should we think that education is the stuff you “learn” at school? Education is completely different compared to what most people think. To educate ourselves means to learn something. At school you don’t actually learn that much. You rather study. You study on your exams, forget it and study for another. The way we study today is mostly based on memorizing and repeating the information. However, that has actually nothing to do with the process of learning. Learning is an active process!

The capacity of our brains is not unlimited, so we are always forgetting the unnecessary stuff (basically everything from school) and leaving our brains waiting for the important lessons. However, they don’t come to us at school too much. Let’s embrace the fire of desire in us and start with the real learning.

“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”

This is often the main problem of many of us. The vast majority of people deals with the problem of being afraid of new things. However, life is about changes. Who can adapt the fastest wins. Just imagine how far we have gone as human species. It’s amazing, but logical. As Darwin said “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” So true!

“I speak to everyone in the same way, whether he is the garbage man or the president of the university.”

Another very important point of view. Sometimes we all have to deal with arrogance of the authorities who think they have the right to talk down to us. Let’s be humble and deal with all people in the same way as if you would deal with yourself. We are all even. After all, everyone is going to die at some point of his life and our culture won’t change a thing. Be grateful and humble when interacting with people. You are no better than them.

“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”

What Albert tries to say here is the huge importance of persistence. If you want to be truly successful you need to adapt the mindset based on an enormous effort and endure with that. You can fail 200 times, but the attempt with the number 201 could be the first one successful. However, you never know when that attempt will come. All you know is that one day you’ll get there. Exciting? That is the genuine beauty of life.

“Weak people revenge. Strong people forgive. Intelligent people ignore.”

Sometimes dealing with ignorant people needs ignorance too. We cannot persuade the ones who are not opened to be persuaded. Your energy should be saved for the circle of your influence so don’t waste it when dealing with the fools. If your opponent doesn’t show open-mindedness and is full of disrespect, why would you interact with such a person. Be alone rather than in a group full of fools.

“What is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right.”

Just try to accept the fact that the popular things aren’t always the best solutions to your problems. What is popular is spreaded all around the world. That should be alarming, because you don’t want to be mundane and average. You want to adapt a minority mindset. (that is by the way a very helpful youtube channel)

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

We are all unique in some way. All we need is to bear in our minds the fact that the other person has his own strengths and weaknesses and we should be willing to accept them as they are. By developing tolerance and empathy, we can learn to better understand our surroundings and we can help them much more! The fact that we are different should make us help each other, not compare ourselves and envy each other. Let’s show them what they can do and help them grow!

We highly recommend you one of the amazing books from Einstein: Ideas and Opinions

Bonus one!

“Education is not the learning of facts, it’s rather the training of the mind to think.”

We’ll let this one resonate with you…
