Think timelessly with Dale Carnegie

Despite the time he lived in, DC has been and still is one of the most influential mentors of our age! He managed to write a couple of bestsellers in the area of self-development. His seminar was at the time very popular, even young Warren Buffet claims that it was very helpful for him to be able to listen to DC. If you truly want to understand the principles of human interaction, psychology of the individual, selling or promotions, DC is there for you!

“Talk to someone about themselves and they’ll listen for hours.”

That is in human nature. By knowing this and applying it to your daily life, you can easily become much more popular across your social circles. It’s so simple and effective as well.

“When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures bristling with prejudice and motivated by pride and vanity.”

People are still only people. We are not robots or computer systems. We are all making decisions based on our emotions and feelings. Even though you may not agree with that, the truth is, we all do not have a capability to make a completely unbiased decision. We just cannot become objective. We can get close to it, however, our decisions will always be affected by human nature. Remember that when dealing with people.

“I have come to the conclusion that there is only one way under high heaven to get the best of an argument – and that is to avoid it. Avoid it as you would avoid rattlesnakes and earthquakes.”

Every subjective argument has a negative outcome. You can’t win it. How can you win the race for “the truth” when you try to persuade others about your own version of it? If they finally agree, you’ve just broken them, which means they’ve lost. If you don’t agree with each other, you all just wasted your time. If you agree with them or appear to do so, you’ve just lost. It doesn’t make sense at all. It’s better to ask everyone about their opinions, you don’t have to agree with them. The key is to not get into the conflict where you can only lose. Every single time you’re about to have an argument, try to calm down and think of the possible outcomes. You’re about to risk losing popularity or wasting your time… Do you still want to trigger it?

“Only knowledge that is used sticks in your mind.”

If you don’t practice what you preach, you are literally lying to yourself. Don’t hide behind the warmly pronounced words of the best quotes and mantras if you cannot follow them! Just don’t do that. Follow what you say by saying what you follow.

“People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.”

Being truly passionate about something is the ultimate motion towards any kind of success. If you want to become a master of what you are doing, you need to develop a strong bond towards that activity. You need to have something bigger than you that would deliver you a huge amount of motivation even if you don’t feel good in the moments of hardship. Use your passion to overcome any crisis and rise!

“If you can’t sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there and worrying. It’s the worry that gets you, not the loss of sleep.”

Worrying about the situation is killing your dreams, hopes and aspirations way more than the actual situation. Try to avoid it. Take action, it is as simple as that. Thank DC later.

“It is the way we react to circumstances that determines our feelings.”

Our feelings are only up to us! We all have the power to decide how we feel. Don’t let the external circumstances influence your own mood. Become responsible for your emotions. You’ve got responsibility, so take it seriously. You’re able to respond!

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.”

If you feel sick about your life, the only thing you have to do is to stand up and act. Simple as that. You don’t need to become the victim of your own overthinking. Just get up and force change by acting. That’s the proactivity in it’s brightest name.

“Names are the sweetest, most important sound in any language.”

Just remember this rule and you’ll never be the same in the interaction with your surroundings. This might be the golden rule for everyone all around the world because it is so global…

“All of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon – instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.”

You won’t be ever happy unless you realize that all you need to be happy is all you already have. If you are not able to feel happiness today, why do you think it should change one day? You are the one who is in charge. Become grateful for what you have and enjoy every single day living it to the fullest!

Bonus quotes for DC lovers

“Today is life – the only life you are sure of. Make the most of today. Get interested in something. Shake yourself awake. Develop a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto.”

“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.”

“It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.”
