10 dangerous time and energy wasters to avoid!
“When you complain, you make yourself a victim. Leave the situation, change the situation, or accept it. All else is madness.” Eckhart Tolle
Complaining won’t get you anywhere. It’s hard, however, if you should stop doing just one thing from this list, try avoiding complaining. You’ll gain unbelievable power, trust me.
“Overthinking – the art of creating problems that weren’t even there.” Anonymous quote
Are you thinking about what could go wrong? Why do you do so? What is the purpose to be scared of the things that often don’t even happen in the future? There’s no point in making yourself sad in the present, especially when the problem isn’t that much of a big deal. Get rid of the toxic activity of turning your beautiful present moments into depression.
“Opportunities are like sunrises. If you wait too long, you miss them.” William Arthur Ward
Stop waiting for miracles. But don’t be impatient. Patience is all about acting, dedication and time perseverance. Being patient means to keep going even if it doesn’t seem to be working now. The patience is to believe in yourself and to trust your own path. That’s how masters are made. Don’t stand still waiting for a miracle. Act.
“Comparison is the thief of joy.” Theodore Roosevelt
Don’t compare yourself to anyone. It has only one exception. Compare yourself of today to yourself of yesterday in order to become greater tomorrow. Your ultimate goal should be to become the best version of yourself possible. You’ve been given your genes, brain and body. These are your cards and how you perform with them, that is only up to you. You are this unique, don’t compare yourself to others, who have started from a completely different position and with completely different cards. You are you, not them. It’s simple as that.
“If you want to conquer fear, don’t sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” Dale Carnegie
Act. Action is the biggest medicine when you feel down, bored, scared or burned out. Find what drives you, do anything in order to change your state of mind. You’ll realize how much this means immediately. Don’t stop going, life’s too short to be scared.
“Perfectionism rarely begets perfection, or satisfaction – only disappointment.” Ryan Holiday
Use the rule of 80/20. According to this magical and versatile rule from Wilfredo Pareto, from roughly 20% of your inputs come 80% of all outputs. Focus on doing your 20% to get a profit of 80% and secure yourself more free time, independence and freedom in general. The key to becoming productive is to simply stop trying to be perfect and start acting. You can write 100 pages of crap and make from it 25 pages of a bestseller. Just do something, the perfection is undefinable so don’t chase it, otherwise, you’ll never become happy just because you’ll never be able to recognize a success.
Living in rush
“Life teaches you that you need to make decisions at the right time – not too early, not too late.” Jeb Bush
Timing is all. That’s the reason for being patient and acting as well. You just never know when the right time comes. However, you have control over yourself so be prepared. Be prepared for success. Program your mind to win. Use affirmations every single day, tell yourself you are a champion, feel like one, behave like a winner and you will become one. If you are prepared, the opportunity will come naturally at the right moment.
Trying to please everyone
“All I can do is follow my instincts because I’ll never please everyone.” Emma Watson
It works basically anywhere. You can do anything but not everything. You can’t make everyone happy. All you can do is focus on your family, friends and yourself. You don’t have to please the whole world. What is the purpose of being famous all around the world when you have nobody waiting for you at home?
Caring about others’ opinions of you
“Your opinions about me does not change who I am.” Lailah Gifty Akita
You are what you think you are. Don’t try to be who you think they think you are. Do you get it? Jay Shetty is the author of this thought and it’s so huge! You should be yourself. And why to even fake yourself, it just doesn’t make sense and sounds really odd. However, the vast majority of people do it…
What is your opinion about these thoughts? What is your biggest time waster?
